Tip 31 to Marketing in a Down Economy: Mental Flexibility

Marketing in a down economy requires flexibily not just in your dollars, but in your mindset towards marketing:

  • You cannot be booksmarts but not street smarts, neither can you avoid the classes and continue being a renegade.
  • Your customers are now your family. And they need cheering up.
  • Your marketing demands you to be innovative on your networking and ability to manage time. If I can contact 2 people while you can only do so with 1, I win.
  • You have to be open to new marketing ideas. And be prepared to fight for those you believe in.
  • You need to start undertstanding the math.
  • You need to start going out of your desk. And onto YouTube.
  • You need to speak. And you need to sound human.
  • Your greatest positioning strategy is to position with a heart.

Without mental flexibility, campaigns will be the same, ideas won’t be created, old habits will die hard. The time is now for you to rise up, to lead the way, to drive value once again. This is the down economy. You are one up.
